Home Renovations | Guest Room Transformation
I am fortunate to have a home that has three working fireplaces. One of them is in the guest bedroom. The first order of business was to paint over the horrible dingy brick with a fresh white. The white I chose is “Snowy Egret” by Behr.
I am a sucker for blues and greens and I decided to go for a pale seafoam colour in this room. It started off with finding this lovely wallpaper with a subtle quatrefoil pattern from Waverley in white and seafoam and applying it to two walls and painting the rest in a pale green pulled from the wallpaper.
As some of you know, I do a lot of my buying in Florida and I was lucky enough to find a matching pair of armoires from there. We painted them white and changed the fabric inside the mesh doors. This room does not have a closet, so now these pieces sit on each side of the fireplace and provide ample storage for clothing.
I absolutely love the faux bamboo writing desk (also from Florida). So hard to find. I painted it up two toned, in both the pale green and the white.
Lastly, there is the bedding. I actually bought the duvet cover and shams at Target, but the night tables and the vintage mirror are from Chatelet. The relaxed roman shades have black-out lining and were fabricated by the Chatelet workroom.
Cozy and serene, this bedroom has it all for someone who wants to retreat from the world and relax and dream.
